Question: Explain which disorder is shown in this video. What symptoms are present in the video clip? How might this disorder impact a person's life?
Obsessive compulsive disorder is shown in this video. As evidence, the man repeatedly twisted the knob on the door, flipped the light switch on and off, and washed his hands with many different bars of soap. Obsessive compulsive disorder is a disorder in which an individual repeatedly performs a task when it's not necessary. For example, when the man was washing hands with soap, most people would believe that after the first wash his hands were clean enough. Despite this, the man continued to washed his hands. - Isaiah Hampton

ReplyDeleteThe disorder that the man is depicting in this clip is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. The symptoms are that he has to do everything five times: switching the light on and locking the door. Then he has several bars of soap, and he washes his hands once and throws it away and gets a new bar. This disorder might impact someone's life by being very expensive and wasteful! People also might draw away from him because what he is doing is socially unacceptable.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder. The symptoms are patterns and being persistent with everything. When he locked the door, he locked it five times. The light switch, five times. And when he was washing his hands, he had the water extremely hot and he went through a couple of bars of soap. I'm guessing he had to get new bars because he felt that the other ones were dirty after the first use.

OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) is the disorder being displayed in the first video. OCD is an anxiety disorder in which patients are driven to repeat the same act, and they can’t control it. For Example, in this video when the man entered is home he had to flip the light switch on and off five times in order to cut it on. If he didn’t do that one thing he probably wouldn’t be able to function all day because that was a part of his "normal/daily routine".

ReplyDeletei believe that the disorder is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder,OCD.Some the symptoms are as you see in the video he is obsessed with doing things correctly how he does everything three usually because they fear germs and maybe thats why he washed his hands with really hot water three times with three different soaps.this can impact his life because he might be doing things over and over and they might be wrong and he wont even realize it like he was so obsessed with washing his hands that he even pay attention to the fact that the water was burning him

ReplyDeleteThe disorder shown in the viedo was OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder. When someone has OCD they have repeated or unwanted thoughts or feelings, which they then responsed to the thought or feeling to make it go away. However, the relief is only temporary. If they dont respone to the obessesive thought or feeling then they start to have anxiety. Some symptoms that the viedo clip showed was that he had to unlock and lock the lock to make sure to lock it. Also, he show turned the lights on and off. He also repeated washing his hands with another soap. He reapted he thoughts and feelings however the relief was for just a short amount of time he had to do it again. This disorde would imapct a person's life because it would take a long time do things and make the person feel secuer.
1.The evidence in this video points to the man having OCD. When he walks into his house he has to unlock and lock the door several times in addition to turning the light on and off. Also, when he got home he had to throw out his gloves possibly showing that he is extremely clean. In order to prove that he is extremely clean, he had to use a brand new bar of soap everytime he washed his hands and he had to wash his hands several times in one visit the the washroom.

ReplyDeleteThis man has a problem. First, he was checking the door to make sure the multiple locks the door had were locked, then the light switch to make sure the lights were on, and then he cleaned his hands with two soaps. This man has clearly a disorder. His case is linked to an obsessive-compulsive disorder. In this case this man has developed an obsessive fear to germs because he cleaned his hands with soap and he throws the soap away and then he grab a new soap and cleans his hands again, and he had like 50 soaps in his mirror case. This man has clearly a disorder--Osccar Caz
Video #1 the disorder showed in this video is obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD for short.the symptoms shown were the repetitions of certain actions that seem to have become customary in his daily life, a routine of sorts. This could affect a persons life in that any thing that messes with their daily ritual can set them off, witch means they don't like new experiences, meeting new people, or going to new places. They limit themselves extremely.
ReplyDeletevideo one: the diorder show is obsessive cumpulsive disorder. The symptoms present are that the guy does things in a certain pattern. He locked the door in a certain way by locking it a few times. Also how he flipped the light switch. - Joshawn C.
ReplyDeleteVideo one: The man has Obsessive compulsive disorder. OCD is when a person acts in a very ritualistic manner due to a sever fear that can or cannot be irrational.in the video clip the man first has and obsession with doing things in fives and he also dislikes germs for he throws away items after only 1 use.in this case he might have higher expenses buying new materials every day and he could be alone for every thing and every one has germs.
ReplyDeleteThe first video showed a person with OCD, obsessive-compulsive disorder. The old man shows actions that are done as a routine. If the routine is broken or not done correctly, the person will repeat the behavior until it comes out right. In the video the old man locked the door multiple times until he did it the routine way. He also washed his hands multiple times until he gets it right. The old man used a new soap when he started again. These were the sighs that were presented for the OCD.
ReplyDeleteOn the second video, the girl seems to show the disorder of bipolar. I believe this because at first, she seems to be very happy, but then she becomes depressed. I know this because of the facial expressions presented and her tone of voice. At first she is singing and her voice is kind of high. She also shows a couple of smiles, towards the end, she begins to kind of cry. Bipolar is a disorder where the person goes from happy to depresses.

ReplyDeleteIn this video, Jack Nicholson is playing a character with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). In the video he has to do everything 5 times when he walks in (turns on the lights, locks, etc.) Then he has to be really clean and free from any germs (this can be a phobia too). He threw away his gloves because he used them already, used extremely hot water to wash his hands, and had to use a different bar of soap every time he washed his hands. He also had to wash his hands twice. This might effect someone's life in a few ways. They would have to pay a lot of money for new things so they can keep up with their OCD. For example, he probably bought the soap in bulk, and he has to buy a new pair of gloves every times he goes out. Those were leather gloves too. Then they wouldn't be able to have parties because they are going to be worried about people invading their space, and would not be accepting. Then they wouldn't want someone to confront them on their disorder either, so they are avoiding confrontation.
lizsandra zuniga video 1. He has ocd he switches the light switch 5times. He throws away his glove because they are dirty> He washes his hans everytime with a new bar a soap and uses hot water to kill the germ.

ReplyDeleteThe disorder being shown here is OCD, and the symptoms being displayed are turning on and off the lights and switching the lock 5 times, and using a new bar of soap every 5 seconds. Also, the guy in the film disposes of his gloves, which we can assume are new. So in general, the man has a consistent patterns or rituals when he goes home. OCD can affect one's life, because when they are obsessed with being clean they tend to dispose of many items that they've used to keep "clean", when in reality they are wasting it, so they waste lots of money to buy the items they have disposed of to compensate for what they'll use in the future. For example, the man in the video clearly must buy soap bars in the bulk and he has to buy them frequently to be supplied since he throws a new one when he washes with it for 5 seconds. So he wastes alot of money buying lots of soap.

ReplyDeleteThe man seems to have obsessive compulsive disorder. When someone has OCD they have repeated or unwanted thoughts or feelings, which are displayed in the clip: he repeatly locked and unlocked the door, he had to turn on and off the light switch, and he also repeatly washed his hands with a new bar of soap. This disorder could really impact someone's life: the amount of time and effort that goes into repeating something over and over is unnecessary. They obviously have no say in the matter because it can cause them pain if they do not repeat the act.
The disorder shown in the video is OCD or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In the video the man at first repeated a serious of things multiple times. He turned on and off the lights in his apartment, but he also washed his hands a few times. Each time with a different bar of soap, and with extremely hot water almost at boiling point. This disorder can impact someone's life by not being able to have a social life, because people may think they are weird or like a germaphobic. It may be also be very expensive to have a Obsessive Compulsive Disorder because the man in the video had many bars of soap, and he used a different one every time. It also looked as if he threw his gloves away in the trash he may also buy a different pair a day.
